The Accidental Prime Minister by Tom McLaughlin
When a video of Joe Perkins standing up to the Prime Minister, about the closure of his local park, goes viral, Joe becomes to the Prime Minister of Britain. With his friend Ajay at his side, he decides to make Great Britain a fun place, but his deputy prime minister, Violetta Crump, wants to stop that. Can Joe survive an anti-silliness uprising, and remain as Prime Minister?
Although it is for a much younger age group, I still enjoyed The Accidental Prime Minister. It was, at times, very funny. Sometimes we all need a bit of childish humour in our lives. The plot made sense, and it wasn't one of those books where all of a sudden, out of nowhere, comes the main plot. The plot was more built up on. Having said that, the characters weren't developed enough, although some might say that this is a problem with quite a lot of children's books. However, the illustrations were lovely, and maybe you don't need as much description when you can say alot of it in pictures.
I am going to give it an 8/10
and an age rating of 6+
